If you do a lot of searching for images online (like I do), you may find some of the following search shortcuts helpful.

These should work in any OS that supports Chrome. If you already know how to add/use search engine shortcuts in Google Chrome, you can skip to Step 4. Otherwise, start here:

  1. Open your Google Chrome settings: chrome://settings (Ctrl/Cmd + , (comma))
  1. In the fourth box down, click Manage search engines
  1. Click the Add button
  1. Cut and paste values from the table below into the Add search engine dialog box. You can change the following to whatever you prefer:
    • Search Engine is what appears in the address bar as you type your search string.
    • Keyword is what you’ll use to call up the search shortcut.

  1. Use the shortcuts by typing the following directly into the Chrome address bar:

For example:

  • To search for large images of tennis balls type: l tennis balls
  • To search for images of apples that are at least 4mp, type: 4 apples
  • To search for a vector Pepsi logo, you’d search for: svg pepsi logo
  • To search for a free image of a sailboat, type: free sailboat
